PALS System Training

This training teaches participants how to fully operate the Positron Annihilation Lifetime Spectroscopy system, including setting it up, preparing the source, and tracing signals through each NIM module (detector, CFDD, TAC, and MCA). Participants will also learn how to analyze data using the LT, FREEVOLUME, and MELT and, if necessary, RESOLUTION and PATHFIT software packages.
A certificate of completion will be issued to participants who successfully finish the training.

DBS System Training

This training includes system setup, source preparation, filling the Dewar with liquid nitrogen, adjusting the spectroscopic amplifier, and analyzing the broadened energy spectrum to determine the S, W, and R parameters.
A certificate will be issued upon successful completion of the training.

Variable Energy Positron Beam System Training (VEPOS)

This training covers vacuum preparation, cooling the cold head using a cryostat, and growing the neon moderator through the LabView control program.
The program also includes vacuum preparation for the Test Chamber (TS), sample loading, and instruction on measurement techniques like DBS and PALS (which are not available yet). We will provide hands-on system training throughout the course.
